After much deliberation, and even more procrastination, I’m going to take a Twitter Sabbatical. I’ve been kicking this idea around for a while. I know a couple people who have done it before and I think it’s high time I took a bit of a break.


If you follow me then you already now how much I lurve the twitterz. Twitter has done a lot for me over the past couple years; it’s introduced me to many, many wonderful people, several of whom I am proud to call friends, and it’s been a source of support and distraction through more than a few rough patches. For that, I am extremely grateful.

But the distractions Twitter offers, while always welcome, are starting to become overwhelming. I’m beginning to lose focus. Not just with Twitter, but with real life stuff too. I haven’t exactly been quiet about wanting to move into a career centered on writing. And Twitter is my number one source of procrastination when it comes to writing. As someone who is really trying to get her proverbial shit together, I think I need to step way from the computer, and the iPhone, and focus on some of the tasks at hand.

So starting today(ish), I will be on a Twitter Sabbatical until October 12. I’ll still be playing around on Tumblr a bit and blogging a lot more (hopefully). I may even try giving Facebook a fair chance. The 500 other channels of communication are always open if you need me.
